If you haven’t yet encountered the powerful hits of The K’s, let us bring you up to speed: in the past 12 months alone, they sold out tickets for a UK national tour and their 2,700-ticket concert at Manchester Academy sold out in just 24 hours. They have graced the main stages of festivals like Isle of Wight, Leeds and Reading, and Kendal Calling. They’ve performed in front of indie legend Liam Gallagher in Greece and have opened for Manchester classics like James in Spain and the iconic Blondie at Scarborough Open Air Theatre. The latest indie rock sensation from Merseyside (the sunny town of Earlestown, nestled between Liverpool and Manchester) is making its way to our stage. Their concerts are a guaranteed riot, but their vibrant live reputation shouldn’t overshadow the sophistication that gives The K’s their recognizable signature sound. This is evident in their debut single ‘Sarajevo’—one of the few rock & roll songs that directly references Austria-Hungary—and their latest release, ‘Heart On My Sleeve.’As they put the finishing touches on their debut album for 2024, I Wonder If The World Knows?—through Manchester’s brilliant independent label LAB Records—it’s clear that with each new release, The K’s will continue to grow. We’ll be among the first to witness it live.
